Do you love pork belly? How about if we enjoy it Korean way? Oh, I'm drooling! One of the best Korean barbecue is "Samgyupsal" or pork belly!

 

As you can see the perfect combination of some fat and meat, added with herbs and spice - scrumptious!!!

 

Before we jumped into the main course, let me introduce the side dishes tagging along (▼)

 

Top right you can see greens, we have fresh green leafy vegetables and the other is veg salad - we can enjoy them differently with pork, or any barbecue! The green leafy vegetable is where you put your juicy samgyupsal bbq, spread some love soy bean paste (that tangerine orange color) and roasted garlic (roast the garlic with pork bbq) and you can also add roasted kimchi (so good if you roast kimchi- the cabbage in red sauce on the top left). Now, you wrap them all together and enjoy that combination of tasty flavors! You can also just eat the bbq with veg salad, mmn yummy!

 

Other side dishes are noodles, fish cake, tteokbokki (simmered rice cake in red sauce), bean sprouts and etc.

 

Oh, barbecue time! Let's start with black pepper flavor! Yes that peppercorn spred harmoniusly with pork belly! So, we have the seasoned one the marinated but still seasoned with black pepper! They crushed or pounded whole black pepper using mortar and pestle making it beautiful and delicous on pork!

 

I super enjoy these two flavors - seasoned and marinated with black pepper and enjoy with roasted kimchi too! The savory, juicy meat combined with some black pepper spice and a little sour of kimchi explodes tasty flavor! The white sauce boiling a little with bbq is a highly recommended sauce too! You'll definitely ask for more!

 

Whatever combination you want, have it your way and you'll never go wrong! Innovate your taste and flavor!

 

So, here's a tasty barbecue sauce I am telling you is ecstasy! You have this mortar and pestle to grind your sauce! The mortar is ceramic while pestle is wood! It's a fun way to add some excitement on your samgyupsal! This sauce has some nuts, you grind them, and add some green pepper they provided!

 

 

So, the sweetness and a little bit of spice make the samgyupsal taste even better! Tasty explodes in the mouth!

 

Ooh, white sauce! Look how I cover the samgyupsal yeah, dip it baby!

 

Now, this sauce is creamy and savory in a way that the little teeny-tiny sweetness make a perfect combination with the pork belly barbecue! Like, you're eating creamy pasta without pasta hahah but so much better!

 

This is a typical Korean barbecue set up! You barbecue on a table indoor. One thing I cannot see is the smoke suction or extractor and it supposed to be hanging.

 

But, I think they use smoke exhaust fan. The griller has an opening where the oil from meat drips.

 

Here's their set menu! So, aside from pork belly, the have other meaty part you can enjoy! The more meat and flavors you want, the more you have to prepare!

 

So, one set can be up to 70,000 KRW (58 USD) and it all depends on every restaurant!

 

We choose the [오스트리아] Austria Set in Black Pepper, Herb, and Obama & that's 41,50 KRW (34.5 USD). Now the herb pork belly is also mouthwatering! I'm telling you - savor the flavor

 

Note that a typical samgyupsal is plain meat, sometimes seasoned with some salt and pepper but not like this!
