WHAT!!!?!!! We CAN BARBECUE USING POT LID???! 

Ooh, now this is NEXT LEVEL impressive!!!

One of the most fascinating Korean BBQ style is grilling over a Korean tradional pot lid^^

Korea has lots of interesting ways/styles when it comes to food especially BBQ!!!!! Look at that~ tasty isn't it?

But there's something else aside from that mouthwatering aasorted meat we barbecue!

As I mentioned earlier, we can barbecue using a pot lid and not a bbq griller! Yes you heard it right (grinning)

This is 솥뚜껑 [sotttukkeong] or "pot lid" but this is a big pot - the caldron or Korean cast iron traditional pot.

As you can see it doesn't have handle as they got rid of it, to make it flat for more comfortable barbecuing!

Cool isn't it? Have you tried barbecuing on a Korean traditional pot lid "sotttukkeong"?

So, the usual set up! They serve side dishes and sauces first for your appetite! These are starters or appetizers you can enjoy while waiting for the tasty meat! There is always kimchi and that is very healthy and it's so enjoyable with bbq!

One thing that is not the usual, is the "sotttukkeong" (left) and it's eye-catching haha! I'm excited like really hahah

There's also "tteokbokki" (top right) or the stir-fried spicy rice cake and if you love it, you can be a real Korean!^^

You can also see bean sprouts that are red becuase it's mixed with chili sauce and it's enjoyable when you grill it along the meat, just like kimchi! You'll see a photo that we barbecue the assorted meat with kimchi and spicy bean sprouts!

 

 

Now here comes the star of the night - the main course! So, we got sausage for free because we waited patiently!^^

We have our most delicious pork- the pork belly and the rib back part which is special as they say and enjoyable too just like the rib part! It doesn't look much, but in person it's massive as it is good for 3 people! Pot lid is also big in person!

There you go, the close up! Ooh, look how mouthwatering! Pork belly is top favorite Korean BBQ and we called it "samgyupsal". Well, the meat with some fat is juicy and savory when barbecued! So, meat and fat are perfect combo for the best BBQ you'll definitely drool for more! Another part is the back part or the secret part, that is sooo tasty!!!

Sizzling! Let's savor our Caldron Lid-Grilled Pork Belly! We put the assorted meat along with the kimchi and spicy bean sprouts and green chili peppers! They are so delicious when barbecued all together and enjoy grilled kimchi with pork belly! This is a piece of heaven~ When you eat delish food, you feel good! So, come on and enjoy Korean bbq~!!!

This sauce is so good, it's a bit sweet and the savory pork belly rolled over it can make ticklish flavorful sensation in your mouth and of course taste bud! I just so loved it! It's like glazy and a bit thick wow mmmnnn!!! I'm crying tears of joy

Thank you South Korea for inventing "Samgyupsal" Pork Belly BBQ!!!!! ㅠ,ㅠ

Caldron Lid-Grilled Pork Belly costs 3,900 KRW (3.25 USD) for 100 grams and you can find that popular Korean bbq house around Yeungnam Univerity in Gyeongsan City! There's a street of food- restaurants, eateries and cafes and so on! It's okay to wait- there's a line, but it's worth it. They'll give you free sausage too and that's a good deal! ENJOY
